In a bid to sustain peace and social harmony, the Bayelsa State Police Command has reaffirmed its commitment in ensuring a peaceful and secure Christmas and New Year celebration throughout the state.
A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer ASP Musa Mohammed noted that the Command also re-echoed an earlier warning concerning the ban on the use of fireworks during the festive season.
The statement further noted “The Commissioner of Police CP. Alonyenu Francis Idu, has directed Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders, Heads of Departments, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), and the Special Drone Unit to implement effective surveillance measures and enhance security across Bayelsa State.
“The Command also appeal to the public for their cooperation and support in achieving a smooth festive season.
“The Commissioner of Police reiterates the unwavering dedication of the Police working with other security agencies to maintaining a safe and harmonious environment for all residents and visitors.
