A 16-year-old boy, Ayibanua Timipre, from Igbomotoru Community, Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, has allegedly committed suicide.
Residents of Jasmine Street in the Kpansia suburb of Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, were in shock at what must have led him to take his own life.
Sources said he allegedly stole N27,000 from his parents and was punished for the act. However, his parents couldn’t be reached at the time of filing this report.
Our correspondent reports that the police took his remains to the mortuary.
The police spokesman could also not be reached, and there was no statement from the command regarding the incident.
