80k minimum wage, Gov Douye Diri, this is commendable.
The announcement of the N80,000 minimum wage by Gov Douye Diri is quite commendable and deserves appreciation and this is in addition to the several appointments made in recent times.
As a Bayelsan and an active member of the APC, it my right to criticize the government when I believe its actions are anti-people and commend when they have done well.
I recall some months back where I vehemently criticized the government on its complacent attitude and response towards the level of poverty, hunger and deprivation in the state but with the several appointments made and the increase in the minimum wage of the civil servants, there’s indication that the government and the governor has not turned a deaf ear to the cry of the people especially at this trying time.
I want to therefore commend the governor and the government for these acts of service to our people and would request that beyond appointments, more permanent jobs be created through the establishment of industries in the state as appointments though commendable and important, are but temporary solutions to agelong and ever growing job crisis.
With this gesture, madam can now confidently go to the market and possibly reserve some change for other family necessities.
For the records, I speak not as a direct beneficiary of either the appointments, the N80,000 minimum wage increase or any other incentive from the governor or government but as the voice of the people.
