Port Harcourt, April 16, 2025 – It was a remarkable gathering of academia and prospective scholars on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, as World Student Advisors (WSA) International, a United Kingdom-based education service provider, hosted its maiden Education Conference at the prestigious Golden Tulip Hotel, Evo Road Crescent, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The groundbreaking event, anchored by WSA’s Director of Higher Education, Dr. Domoyi Castro Mathew, attracted a wide range of participants, including delegates from Aberystwyth University, Wales, UK; executives of the Rivers State University (RSU) Postgraduate Students Association (PGSA); postgraduate students; and other education enthusiasts from Port Harcourt and its environs.

In his keynote address, Dr. Aloysius Igboekwu, Head of Postgraduate Studies at Aberystwyth University, highlighted the institution’s distinguished profile. According to him, Aberystwyth University is ranked among the top five universities in the UK for Teaching Quality and Student Satisfaction. He noted that international students stand to benefit from scholarships ranging from £2,000 to £3,000 and, notably, free accommodation for the entire duration of their studies—upon securing an unconditional admission offer.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Mathew gave insights into the vision and operations of WSA International. Founded in 2012 by a group of UK academics, WSA has evolved into a global education brand reputed for excellence in customer service. Dr. Mathew emphasized that WSA provides free, student-focused services, including a dedicated personal application manager for each student, robust virtual support via email and WhatsApp, and a resource library featuring podcasts on topics such as preparing financial statements, crafting personal statements, and navigating visa applications.

Representing the RSU PGSA President, the Secretary General, Ms. Emi Dennis, commended the initiative, stating that it aligns with the association’s vision of expanding its global reach and fostering strategic academic collaborations beyond Nigeria. She encouraged prospective students to seize the opportunity to chart an international academic course through Aberystwyth University and WSA.

Participants expressed excitement about the wealth of information shared, particularly the potential for zero-cost accommodation and discounted tuition—a rare combination in international education.
