Yenagoa, Nigeria – Mr. Ebi Egbe, Chief Executive Officer of Monimichelle Sports Construction Company Limited, has affirmed that all Confederation of African Football (CAF) competitions — including FIFA World Cup qualifiers and AFCON qualifiers — can be hosted on hybrid synthetic pitches developed by his firm, which are built to last over a decade beyond major tournaments.

Speaking to reporters, Mr. Egbe reflected on the company’s landmark project at the Samson Siasia Sports Complex, which was constructed 17 years ago using European-standard hybrid synthetic turf technology. “At the time, it was the most advanced solution in Europe,” he stated. “Seventeen years later, that pitch continues to demonstrate the strength and longevity of our systems.”

Mr. Egbe also referenced the Enyimba International Stadium as a shining example of Monimichelle’s innovation. “The Enyimba pitch is a hybrid synthetic model, constructed to global standards. It has been approved by both CAF and FIFA, and it continues to earn praise for its performance and reliability,” he said.

In light of ongoing debates surrounding synthetic surfaces, Mr. Egbe called for a shift in perspective. “We need to move away from divisive tendencies and accept the reality of modern football infrastructure. Our pitches are sustainable, durable, and tailored for African conditions while meeting international expectations,” he added.

Monimichelle Sports Construction Company remains committed to developing cutting-edge sports facilities across Africa and beyond.
