The Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has assured residents of the state that the challenges currently confronting Rivers are manageable and surmountable, expressing confidence that divine guidance will see the state through difficult times.

Governor Fubara gave the assurance at the 2026 Holy Ghost Rally organised by the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt, on Sunday.

He spoke through his deputy, Professor Ngozi Nma Odu.
According to the governor, the presence and guidance of God provide the confidence needed to confront and overcome the state’s challenges.

“With the Almighty God on our side, our challenges are surmountable and our future remains hopeful. The theme of this year’s rally, ‘The All-Sufficient God,’ is both timely and reassuring,” Fubara said.

He explained that the theme of the rally serves as a reminder that, even in times of uncertainty and difficulty, God remains a dependable source of wisdom, strength, provision and grace. The governor noted that when human capacity is exhausted, divine grace takes over.

Governor Fubara also commended the Redeemed Christian Church of God for its sustained spiritual impact and consistent prayers for Rivers State and the nation at large. He acknowledged the church’s role in promoting moral values, unity, peace and faith among the people.

Earlier in his sermon, the General Overseer of the RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, preached from Genesis 17:1, describing God as all-sufficient and capable of meeting every human need. He stressed that while human efforts and interventions, including medical solutions, have limitations, God possesses the power to restore hope and turn around situations that appear hopeless.

The rally concluded on a note of renewed hope, faith and resilience, reinforcing optimism among Rivers State residents as they look forward to a brighter and more promising future.
