Tarabina Commends Contractor on Bayelsa Ultra-Modern Stadium Project

The Chairman of the Directorate for Project Monitoring and Evaluation in Bayelsa State, Hon. (Engr.) Ebiye Tarabina, has commended the contractor handling the Ultra-Modern Stadium project for the quality and pace of ongoing work.

Engr. Tarabina gave the commendation on Thursday, April 30, 2026, during an inspection tour and technical session with the construction company at the site of the 30,000-capacity international stadium in Igbogene.

He praised the contractor for demonstrating professionalism and urged them to sustain the momentum, noting that the project, when completed, would boost the state’s economy and enhance sporting activities.

In his response, the Project Manager, Dr. Dagogo Emmanuel, disclosed that significant progress had been recorded.

He explained that Sections 1 and 2 of the project had been completed, with only backfilling remaining, while substructure work is ongoing in Sections 3 and 4.

He added that all piling work has been completed and assured that more milestones would be achieved in the coming days.

Other projects inspected during the tour include the ongoing bridge at Imgbi Junction and the Glory Drive Road Phase 3.

The chairman was accompanied by the Secretary of the Directorate, Engr. Sampson Igodo, board members, and other engineers.
