The chairmanship candidate for All Progressive Congress Abak Local Government Area, Hon Augustine Edem (KSM) said if elected, he would give his people effective representation and especially focus on agricultural revolution across the local government area.
Hon Augustine Edet stated this while speaking to media practitioners when arrived during the YALI Network Nigeria 2024 National Summit International Youth Day Celebration in Uyo.
The Chairmanship Hopeful said his administration would not relent despite the challenges to make sure Abak Local Government Area witness and experience tremendous agricultural programme to frustrate the current hardship witness in the country where they would produce a lot of food and by the grace of God may export, becoming the first local government area to do it in the country.
According to him, towards the development, Abak local government would be industrial and business hub in the country while to achieve this, would make sure relate with the families, family heads, wards etc. understanding their various plead and contribute because it will now be an open door policy listening to everybody contribution irrespective of political, religion, affiliation without discrimination to achieve our goals
He said the people would now come to experience true grass root governance across their door step living with them to benefit dividend of democracy without compromise where they would work together at the spot assess any issue on ground and have town hall meeting discussing development of the entire local government area.
He noted that the traditional institutions in Abak needs office which he would build for them and also a befitting secretariat as a local area, while the areas of agriculture, education, health, and especially commerce would be seriously tackled for his people but also extend hand of fellowship on skill acquisition programme believe in future Abak would become industrial hub where foreign and local industries would invest without any regret, understanding security issues has no problem being Akwa Ibom State a peaceful state in Nigeria.
He called on the people to continue to unit without encouraging discrimination which is not their character as a people while he would not disappoint them and take them to the promise land.
