The installation ceremony of Obong Pius James Okon as Ntisong IV of Akwa Esop Imaisong Ibibio, alongside the 44th Anniversary and Send-forth of Obong (Engr.) Essien U. The grand occasion witnessed an unprecedented turnout, featuring various cultural groups, masquerade displays, and distinguished personalities from different sectors.

Dignitaries at the event included royal fathers, clergy members, captains of industries, business moguls, top politicians, and representatives from the Hausa and Igbo communities, all of whom graced the occasion in solidarity.

Speaking shortly after the installation ceremony, Ntisong Dr. Bassey Archibong, Chairman of Ntisong Akwa Esop Imaisong Ibibio, Adamawa/Taraba State, emphasized the importance of maintaining unity, love, and progress among the Ibibio people, regardless of their geographical location. He urged them to always remember their common heritage and work collectively for the development of their people.

He further stated that the unity of Ibibios in Adamawa and Taraba States has led to the establishment of an Education Endowment Fund aimed at supporting the education of Ibibio children, underscoring that education remains the key to success.

Dr. Archibong also appealed to the Akwa Ibom State Government to extend a hand of fellowship to their people in Adamawa and Taraba. He revealed that the Adamawa Emirate Council had graciously allocated land to the Ibibio community, where they plan to construct an Akwa Ibom House to showcase the enduring cordial relationship between both ethnic groups.

In his remarks, Ntisong Aniekan Udoh Akpan, President of the Akwa Ibom Cultural Association, charged Ntisong IV, the Mkpisong Council, and the entire members of Akwa Esop Imaisong Ibibio to continue fostering love, unity, peace, progress, and development among the Ibibios and other ethnic groups in Akwa Ibom State and beyond.

He reassured the Ibibio people in Adamawa State of his unwavering commitment to their welfare and cultural preservation. He emphasized that unity and love without discrimination remain the guiding principles for promoting Akwa Ibom culture for both present and future generations.

Ntisong Akpan also commended the Akwa Ibom delegation from Adamawa and Taraba for their dedication and passion toward the association, urging them to remain steadfast in ensuring the success of its ongoing projects. He expressed optimism that the association’s future remains bright, with numerous initiatives set to uplift the Ibibio people in various regions.
