Against the backdrop that knowledge rules the world, President of Azikel Group, Dr. Azibapu Eruani has called on Nigerians to arm themselves with information by reading the intellectual works of seasoned authors in the country.
This, Dr. Eruani, Chief Launcher, said shortly after unveiling; before launching the book titled “Arbitration and Dispute Resolution in Nigeria written by His Royal Majesty, King Collins Daniel, Obhanoban of Abureni Kingdom at the book launch held at the Multi-Door Court House in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.
In a statement by the Media Assistant to the President of Azikel Group, Mr. Austin Ebipade, Dr. Eruani submitted that as a nation, “we must come to terms that some cases are better resolved by Arbitrators as against delay in justice administration, owing to adjournments which could last beyond a decade with no known date of ruling.
He pointed that the book was inaudated by the authors years of experience, which is in tandem with the accepted norms across the globe, which give credence to Arbitration as a viable mean to expeditiously resolve lingering disputes.
Dr. Eruani, Bayelsa Industrial businessman, averred the barrage of cases in the Nigerian Court outnumber Judges in the judicial system, stressing that it’s apt that the Judiciary has swiftly opened a vista to embrace Arbitrators to adjudicate and reduce pending cases before the court.
“It’s disheartening that some cases in our judicial system outlive the plaintiffs and defense party.
Dr. Eruani posited that the author is an advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, Chartered Arbitrator and a Seasoned Writer, who has made remarkable contribution in the justice system and a traditional Leader who has made alternative means of resolving disputes that has brought sustained peace and tranquillity in his domain.
He was emphatic that knowledge not transferred through intellectual piece cannot be beneficial in the future, even as he extolled the author for documenting his intellectual work in a book for tomorrow and generation yet unborn.
Dr. Eruani averred that the book would serve for businesses, Institutions and individual means of alternative dispute resolution, even as he prescribed the book for all Nigerians.
The President of Azikel Group, however, urged the organizers to distribute copies of the book to libraries of post primary schools and tertiary institutions of learning in state, Nigeria and the need to export the intellectual work to the globe.
Dignitaries at the event were Former President, Goodluck Jonathan, Representative of Former INEC Chairman, Atahiru Jega, Representative of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in Nigeria, the Obhanoban of Ogbia Kingdom, HRM King Domaro Charles Owaba, Objanoban of Oloibiri Kingdom, King Amalate J Turnah.
Others are the CEO of Ayala Hotels, Chief Robert Enogha, Vice Chancellor of Federal University, Otuoke, Dr. Teddy Adias, Representative of the Vice Chancellor of Rivers State University amongst others.
