Bayelsa CP decorates PPRO, Musa Mohammed, 68 others with new ranks
The Commissioner of Police in Bayelsa State, Francis Idu has decorated the command’s Public Relations Officer, Musa Mohammed and 68 other personnel newly promoted to various ranks.
Musa Mohammed was promoted from the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) to the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).
Others include 29 personnel from SP to CSP, 18 personnel from DSP to SP and 21 others from ASP to DSP.
Commissioner of Police, Francis Idu, while speaking during the decoration ceremony held at the Police Officers’ Mess, expressed gratitude to the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Kayode Egbetokun who factor it out that Men and Officers are promptly promoted and rewarded for their investment on security governance all over the country particularly in Bayelsa state .
He said the IGP, since assumption of office,has made sure that hard working officers and Men of the Nigerian police force are promoted as and when due.
He however urged the benefitting police personnel to reciprocate the gesture by putting in there best in securing life and properties, “We assured the citizens of bayelsa, that we would invest our capacity and competencies to ensure that law and order management issues is built to quanrantee assurances of freedom from fear which is security and we have been able to do that”.
“IG seen what we have done make sure those who are due for promotion were promptly promoted. The newly promoted officers should reciprocate the gesture of the IG and ensure that this year is a year to develop intolerance techniques to crime and criminalities”
“We have been able to do crime mapping of the state, we have been able to compile crime footages which has been the fall back point for us to ensure that when things happen, we know where to check.”
” So, the men and officers promoted are assured that adequate mentorship is available .They are to double their efforts and commitment for the IG to know that the reward he has given has trigger optimum performance.”
“The IG requested everyone to input template on crime governance that we should holistically give everyone buy-in particularly those who are going to enforce the law and we should filters into them the need to ensure citizens concern on the enforcement template they have .
” We are at the receiving end of the citizens perception .Whatever we do and their is no buy-in by the citizens, we are wasting our time , they are the point of our services , they are the point of our assessment and in bayelsa here we always make sure the community based Organisations, various Youth groups, interest group are brought in to our law and order management strategies.
“We charge you to go back to CBO and various community leaders to let them know this is new year and to say look what did we do wrong last year and what they think we should do to improve upon this year to ensure that a holistic template is created to manage law and order issues here.”
“Bayelsa is a place that the nature has created it colony, harvest of creeks, meandering rivers and swampy terrain that only the citizens and google can collaborate and gives you point of impact . So if you neglect citizens input, you are looking for trouble.”
“We have electro technological equipments that we have married with google to give us feedback and their is dis link between the citizens and we depend on them 75 percent”.
He said the state command flew over 18 hours with about 8 drones on daily basis. Saying they are doing all they can to make sure citizens are free from fear.”
