The All Progressives Congress, APC Governorship candidate for the November 11 governership election and former Governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Timipre Sylva said if elected governor he will resuscitate the Peremabiri rice farm in Peremabiri community, Southern Ijaw LGA of Bayelsa State which according to him has the potential not only to feed Bayelsa but to feed the whole of Nigeria if fully harnessed.

Sylva who disclosed this during his campaign tour of Enewari, Opuama, and Ekowe communities in Constituency 3, Southern Ijaw LGA of Bayelsa State, stated that agriculture which is one of his major developmental agenda will be fully taped to produce food, create wealth and provide gainful employment for the youth and women.

Flanked by his running mate,,Joshua MacIver, the party Chairman and other notable party bigwigs, the former Governor of Bayelsa, maintained that Bayelsans need no lack food to eat especially rice as the state is blessed with abundant fetile land to produce the crop in abundant quantity for commercial purpose.

He reiterated that his developmental agenda of human capital development and empowerment infrastructure, education, electricity, security and developing a gas based economy to engage the youths will be vigoroiusly implemented, pledging to link Opuama community to Angiama to access Yenagoa, the state capital.

He emphasized that the APC is the only party that has well documented laid down roadmap on how to develop the state, insisting further than every Bayelsans will have the laid down plan so that they can ask questions.

His words :,” Opuama is totally for the APC with the decamping of our ward Chairman and other notable members of the PDP nothing is left of the PDP. So I can see that we are coasting to victory here in Opuama. Let me tell you one thing if you vote for APC you will never regret your action you are taking.

” On the 11 of November, if you vote myself and His Excellency, the incoming deputy Governor, you are voting to change your destiny and your community. The first thing on our agenda is hunal capacity development, empowerment and education. So we will educate our people and empower our youths and women, we will build infrastructure, roads . The road we built here is a child’s play, we are going to build bigger roads.

” we will link this community to Angiama so that you will be linked up to Yenagoa. The next time I am coming to Opuama I want to drive by road to Opuama. We are going to create an economy to create jobs for our youths and women. Peremabiri rice farm will be developed, that is too on my agenda, we have to produce enough rice not only to feed Bayelsa State but the whole of Nigeria. We are fishermen by nature, we have to produce enough fish to feed our people and produce enough to feed existing industry.”

At Ekowe, the APC governorship candidate while reeling out his plan to better the lives of the people said: ” Number one on our agenda is human capacity development, education and empowerment of our youths and women, welfare of students. Ekowe people remember my efforts to make sure Ekowe Polytechnics is functional today.

” When you vote us in, I will make sure Ekowe Polytechnics students drive to Ekowe. It is easy to tear the road here to Otuan , already I have done something there. It is easy to do, in the few years of being a governor we will drive to Ekowe. The resuscitation of the Peremabiri rice farm is a major part of our agenda, we should be able to produce enough rice to feed Bayelsa, enough to feed Nigeria and enough to feed West Africa.

” We must be able to produce power and create an economy that will be able to empower our young men and women, we want to provide jobs for our youths and women because the problem of Bayelsa is youths unemployment, the problem of insecurity is lack of employment of our youths. We have a lot of youths who graduated with the right qualification with no jobs what do you expect, they will employ the excess energy in different directions that might not be good for us.

“So we will make sure Bayelsa youths are gainfully employed, we will ensure thef security of lives and property in Bayelsa State and also ensure you have electricity. These are things we can do some of them we have done them before, so we are coming back bigger and better to do more for you. So on the 11 of November you have your destiny in your hands make sure you go to the polls and ensure you vote for the APC myself and the Great Joshua MacIver and I want to assure you that if you vote for us you lives will not be the same again good things will begin to happen here, “Slyva added.
