In line with his human capacity development, empowerment and job creation agenda, the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate for the November 11 election in Bayelsa State, Chief Timipre Sylva has promised to establish a ceramic factory in Biseni Clan, Yenagoa LGA within a year of being elected governor.

He also vowed to make Gbarain/ Ekpetiama Clans the gas hub of Nigeria if voted into office.

Sylva spoke in company of the National Vice Chairman, South South of the APC,, Chief Victor Ton Giadom, National Vice Chairman, South West, D.I kekemeke and other notable national and state party stalwarts during the campaign tour of Okordia Biseni, Zarama Clans, Constituency 3 and Gbarain/ Ekpetiama Clans in Constituency 2 in Yenagoa LGA of Bayelsa State.

Speaking to a marmoth crowd at Biseni, the former Governor said Biseni was his second home that is why he appointed sons and daughters of the Kingdom to positions of trust, lamenting however that since he left office as Governor subsequent governors have not done any project to impact the people.

He noted that already a parcel of land has been provided by the people to site the ceramic factory, saying that the project was on the verge of take off before he was removed unceremoniously from office.

He emphasized that establishment of the campany is in line with his agenda to industrialize the state, create jobs and empower the women and youths by putting money in their pockets; in addition encouraging women to form community based cooperative society in order to access interest free loans to start up businesses.

” I have always looked forward to the opportunity of coming back to do what I promised to do with Biseni and I was already on the way to do it before I was removed as Governor the first time. I wanted to establish a ceramic factory in Biseni and we have gone to an advanced stage and Biseni people have already given us the land to establish the ceramic factory here before I left.

” Now am coming back and I want to assure you that within the one year of by government, we will set up the ceramic factory. So that Biseni people can have work to do so that real prosperity will come to the people.

At Obunagha community, Constituency 2, Chief Sylva reaffirmed his commitment to the six point agenda of human capacity development, education of the youths and empowerment, infrastructure development, agriculture, power and security, adding that ” During my government we will turn the gas that is being flared into wealth. Gbarain Ekpetiama is one of the richest parts of Bayelsa State but the wealth of the area is not translated to the life’s of the people.

” As a former Minister of Petroleum Resources,(State), I have a unique standing and a unique experience to be able make you enjoy the benefit of the oil and gas in your area. I have the reach, I have the connections in the industry so when you make me governor I will be in a best position to make you people domicile the benefits that already exist in your area.

” If you say, you want me to turn Gbarain Ekpetiama into an industrial area, I have already started now. As Minister of State I was able to encourage the development of Azikel Refinery here, the development of a cylinder manufacturing plant here and the development of a lubrication plant here this is just a tip of the iceberg as Governor I am going to ensure that this area becomes a hub for the development in the gas sector.

” The number three point of my agenda is to develop a gas economy and Gbarain Ekpetiama is home to trillion of cubic feet of gas. I know because I was Petroleum minister so I will work with the federal government with relevant agencies in the federal government and investors to ensure that we bring those investment here and develop the gas that you have so that it can translate to proper wealth in your pocket.”

Also speaking, a former House of Assembly, Engr. Ebipado Fekoweimo, said because of the love Sylva had for the Gbarain Ekpetiama people, he appointed sons sn daughters in public offices, adding that since Sylva left as Governor no other government has surpassed his achievements in projects execution and vowed to deliver massively for victory of APC come November 11 polls.
