BAYELSA LG POLLS: YOU CAN’T REAP FROM WHERE YOU DID NOT SOW, PDP GROUP BLAST HON. BERRY NEGERESE
Stakeholders and leaders of the Peoples Democractic Party, PDP, in Bayelsa West Senatorial District made up of Sagbama and Ekeremor Local Government Areas, under the aegis of Bayelsa West PDP Conscience Group, has described the local government chairmanship ambition of Mr Berry Negerese under the PDP as a joke taken too far, adding that he cannot reaped from where he did not sow.
The group wondered how Negerese who widely celebrated his defections from the PDP to the All Progressives Congress, APC, after insulting his benefactor and former governor now a serving senator, Seriake Dickson, is now seeking to fly the party chairmanship ticket for Ekeremor Local Government Area.
In a statement signed by its Coordinator Chief Enebraye Thompson and made available to newsmen in Yenagoa, the group questioned Negerese loyalty to the PDP, adding that there is no record of his return to the PDP, recalling that he was recently disqualified from seeking the party’s ticket to contest for the Ekeremor Constituency 3 House of Assembly seat during last year’s general elections.
The group pointed out that they are taken aback when he publicly vilified and made disparaging comments against the PDP government and its policies but has now suddenly make a U-turn to seek for an elective position through the same party platform.
Chief Thompson said: ” Recalled that on October 13, 2019, Negerese made some scathing remarks and verbal attacks against the PDP and the then Governor Seriake Dickson. How could he have forgotten so soon how he rain invectives and unprintable words on our leader Senator Seriake Dickson who appointed him as Commissioner 1 in the Local Government Service Commission. If he has forgotten, for the records, the internet never forgets. The insults and public outbursts towards the PDP is still in the public domain. He even boasted publicly that Senator Douye Diri will never be governor.
“We are therefore calling on our ‘Miracle and Peoples Governor ‘ Senator Douye Diri and the leadership of the PDP in the state to be wary of these types of fair weather politician who cannot be trusted with public office as they have failed their loyalty test. Since he ran to the APC, he should go and contest under APC, the governor should see him as an APC member that he is.
“There is an adage that says “Monkey Work, Monkey Chop” therefore there should be deliberate concerted efforts to reward loyal party faithful who have stood with the party through thick and thin with appointments and elective positions and not delinquents.”
According to the group, Negerese who is now aspiring for the chairmanship ticket of the PDP for Ekeremor Local Government Area has rush to a national television station to congratulate the governor as if he is a PDP member speaks volume of his desperation.
Let us put on record that Negerese on October 13,2019, said: “Dickson is operating like a tyrant and a man who wants to be worshipped, if it were in the slave era, he would have sold us into slavery. Is it Bayelsa International Airport or Cargo Airport? Billions have been sank into that airport but no result. The Agge Seaport is a scam Because Dickson wants to go the Senate,that is why he is imposing candidates on us. He (Dickson) is an ungrateful tyrant.”
