The Chairman of the Bayelsa State Directorate for Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Hon. Engr. Ebiye Tarabina, has inspected several ongoing government projects across the state, reaffirming the Directorate’s commitment to ensuring that projects are executed in line with approved standards and specifications.
In a statement issued by the Director, Media/Publicity of the Directorate, Sambo Sataria, Tarabina said the inspection was part of the Directorate’s efforts to monitor the progress and quality of government projects across Bayelsa State.
The Chairman inspected the ongoing Agbere–Aboitor–Osekwenike–Osifo–Asamabiri–Elemebiri Road Project, where he commended the contractor for the milestones recorded so far.
However, Tarabina stressed that the Directorate would continue to insist on strict compliance with approved quality standards and project specifications.
He described the road project as critical to the development and connectivity of communities across the state, noting that its successful completion would improve transportation and enhance economic activities in the affected areas.
The Project Monitoring Boss also inspected the 5,000-capacity Mini Stadium in Sampou, the 30,000-capacity International Stadium in Igbogene, and Glory Drive Phase 3.
At Glory Drive Phase 3, he inspected the ongoing laying of the binder course on the left side of the road from the Imgbi axis.
Tarabina reiterated the Directorate’s determination to ensure that government projects are delivered to the required standards and specifications and meet the expected quality benchmarks.
He was accompanied on the inspection by the Secretary of the Directorate, Engr. Sampson Igodo, board members, engineers and other officials of the Directorate.
The inspection forms part of the state government’s broader efforts to monitor the implementation of infrastructure projects and ensure value for money in the execution of public projects.
