Director-General of the Governor Douye Diri Skills Acquisition and Empowerment Programme, Hon. Charity Kens Godwin has debunked the claims that the 3rd edition of the Skills Acquisition Programme has been abandoned by the State Government.

According to Hon. Charity Kens Godwin, the Governor Douye Diri Skills Acquisition and Empowerment Programme which has produced over 1,644 graduands with skills and enterprenural empowerment has been abandoned as the over 3,500 trainees of the 3rd edition of the Skills Acquisition Programme are on holiday break ahead of graduation.

Director-General of the Governor Douye Diri Skills Acquisition and Empowerment Programme, Hon. Charity Kens Godwin, in a statent at the weekend describes the alleged abandonment as ridiculous, laughable and of course, very far from the truth. This is politics taken too far!

According to her, “My attention has been drawn to a certain social media post alleging that our Miracle Governor, His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, has abandoned trainees of the 3rd edition of the Skills Acquisition Programme. This is ridiculous, laughable and of course, very far from the truth. This is politics taken too far!”

“How could the Governor abandon a programme he funded from the beginning with 3,500 students in this 3rd phase? This programme remains a flagship project in the empowerment drive of the Governor Douye Diri-led administration and testimonies abound that it has improved the economic well-being of thousands of the people.”

“Without doubt, the 1st phase with 814 graduands and 2nd phase with 840 graduands also fully sponsored by the Prosperity Government were largely successful as trainees were all handed their starter-packs”.

“For the avoidance of doubt, I wish to categorically state that trainees have not been abandoned but have only proceeded on two weeks break ahead of their graduation coming soon.”

Also, we have informed our students before the break that their graduation date will be communicated to them before soon. Our students and the public are advised to disregard such falsehood and malicious social media post, which is believed to be politically motivated”
