Chief Bruce Duba has been unanimously appointed as paramount ruler of the new AYAKIRI community in Gbarain Kingdom, in Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
The resolution followed an expanded meeting by sons and daughters of the new community that was granted autonomy by a high court in Yenagoa giving credence and express approval to break out from their host-Ogboloma in Gbarain Kingdom.
During the community meeting, Congress also approved Elder Isaiah Inebaraton as Deputy Paramount Ruler, Elder Waripamo Immomotimi as Secretary-General, Chief Mrs Ebiegbere Waripamo as Women Leader as well as Chief Elliot Timizi as Chairman of the Ayakiri Community Development Committee ( CDC ).
Others who made the list of the new cabinet in the community are Chief Emmanuel Onunu who now occupies the position of Honourary Adviser to the Cabinet.
The representatives of the compounds in the Council cabinet are Gilbert Egbuke, Chief of Kure Compound, Duba Taye, Chief of Onunu Compound, Makurai David, Chief of Gadi Compound and Inebaraton Ade, Chief of Inebaraton Compound.
Comr Inebaraton Inedouye was also unanimously appointed to join the Council as Youth President. The appointed Council has a one year initial lifespan beginning from 1st January, 2025.
The community Congress further calls on Members of the public to take notice of this new leadership as they formally notify the Shell Petroleum Development Company SPDC, Bayelsa State Ministry of Mineral Resources, Gbarain/Ekpetiama PIA- Implementation Committee, Gbarain Council of Chiefs, Gbarain Youths Federation, GYF,as well as security agencies.
