The Founder of Mountain of Power and Miracle Cathedral International, Prophet Nsikak Etok, has advised Christians to dissociate themselves from diabolical practices and remain steadfast in their faith despite the challenges they may encounter in life.
Etok gave the advice while speaking with journalists shortly after a fellowship programme held at Ikot Enwang in the Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
The cleric said it would be unfortunate for Christians to encourage, promote or engage in practices that were contrary to the teachings of the Christian faith.
He noted that Christians were expected to uphold sound moral principles and set good examples for unbelievers through their conduct, preaching and teaching of the gospel.
Etok said, “It is unfortunate for Christians to encourage, promote and swim in diabolical practices. Such individuals cannot exhibit the character of the early Christians, who were expected to be good examples by educating, preaching and teaching unbelievers the true, sound and moral principles of the gospel.” Speaking on his ministry, the prophet said he remained committed to fulfilling his calling despite the challenges he had encountered.
He said the ministry would continue to train young ministers who would assist in the growth of the church and the spread of the gospel across the world. According to him, plans are also underway to establish a school where ministers would be properly trained for effective service in the ministry.
“Despite the uphill task we have experienced in the ministry, I will not give up, no matter the circumstances. I am determined to fulfil my calling,” he stated.
Etok disclosed that people from different parts of the country regularly travelled to fellowship with the church, but noted that transportation remained one of the major challenges facing members, particularly those based in Uyo who needed to travel to Ikot Enwang.
He expressed optimism that God would provide a solution to the challenge soon. The cleric also commended the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, for what he described as his developmental strides across the three senatorial districts of the state.
He particularly praised the governor for the commissioning of 39 projects as part of activities marking Akwa Ibom State’s 39th anniversary.
Etok urged the people of the state to continue supporting the governor, saying his administration had performed beyond expectations.
He said Eno had consistently preached peace and unity among the people, stressing that there was no need for citizens to fight one another because they remained one family.
The cleric added that, as a pastor, Governor Eno understood the importance of righteous leadership and would continue to work towards the development and peaceful coexistence of the people.
He said, “When the righteous is on the throne, the people rejoice. Governor Eno is a pastor and we believe he will fulfil his promises to the people.”
