A youth organization under the aegis of World Youth Centre Incorporated has urged governments at all levels, corporate bodies and Nigerians of goodwill to take a cue from an environmental activist, Barr. Robert Azibaola on his environmental conservation efforts in Bayelsa State, the Niger Delta and Nigeria generally.

Comrade Preye Ketebu-Brown, Secretary, Board of Trustees of the World Youth Centre Incorporated made the call in a press statement he signed and made available to newsmen in yenagoa, the Bayelsa state capital.

According to the youth leader, environmental conservation should be a primary concern for all stakeholders in society, if mankind must survive the emerging catastrophic impact of climate change.

“The bold and exemplary steps of Mr. Robert Azibaola in leading individual efforts in preservation of our environment and indeed protection of our ecosystem, is highly commendable and should be encouraged by all and sundry.

“His dedication to the preservation of our already fragile ecosystem, through hands on approach such as personal involvement in monitoring our rain forests, community engagement in advocacy and behaviour change programs are pragmatic strategies that show his genuine love for mankind, our environment and indeed future generations.

“The World Youth Centre incorporated proudly identifies with his selfless mission; and efforts by others like the Niger Delta Wetlands Centre in speaking and acting for the Niger Delta environment.

“The World Youth Centre incorporated is equally committed in her drive to ensure community youths fully take on the challenge of protecting and preserving our environment.

“We beckon on men and women of goodwill, alongside private sector and relevant government agencies to take a cue from Mr. Robert Azibaola’s shining example and always support environmental conservation efforts in Bayelsa State, the Niger Delta and Nigeria generally,” he added.
