The management of Darlon Oil and Gas Limited wishes distance its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief David Lyon, from a crisis currently brewing in Bilabiri 1 & 2 Communities in Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

In a statement issued in Yenagoa, the Capital of Bayelsa State, the management of the company said that the clarification became necessary following a news publication signed by one Lucky Tubotu who claimed that Chief Lyon is arming militants to terrorize Bilabiri 1 & 2 Communities.

According to the Chairman of Darlon Oil and Gas Limited, the news story is not only false but a figment of the imagination of the author and his sponsors who are bent on tarnishing the political and business reputation of Chief David Lyon, a former governor elect of Bayelsa State.

Explaining further, management of Darlon said that Bilabiri 1 & 2 Communities in question are not under the operational area of Darlon Oil and Gas Limited, demanding that the author and sponsors of the news item should retract the defamatory publication with immediate effect.

In their words, the management said “we are therefore, calling on the general public to disregard the unfounded and malicious allegations peddled against our revered principal, Chief David Lyon.

“We are also using this medium to warn that any further airing of the maliciously fabricated story aimed at denting the image of our revered principal, Chief David Lyon, will be dealt with in court.”
