Reports circulating on social media alleging the death of former Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, have been dismissed as false.

The clarification was made by the Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Delta State Governor, Ossai Ovie Success, following widespread speculation about the former governor’s purported death.

According to Ossai, he received several inquiries from concerned members of the public seeking confirmation of the rumour. He said he immediately contacted the family of the former governor to verify the claim.

“I spoke directly with his daughter, Orode Uduaghan, on the phone, and she confirmed that the news is false,” he stated. Ossai described the spread of the false report as irresponsible and insensitive, noting that such misinformation causes unnecessary distress to the family, friends, and supporters of the former governor.

He urged members of the public to disregard the rumour and refrain from sharing unverified information, stressing the importance of responsible use of social media.

“Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan is alive, well, and not dead,” he reaffirmed. The media aide also called on the public to show respect for individuals and verify information before disseminating it online.
