Yenagoa – An illustrious daughter of Bayelsa State and United States-based academic, Dr. Esther B. Sako, PhD (Nee Eseimokumoh), has congratulated His Excellency, Dr. Peter Pereotubo Akpe, on his nomination and successful swearing-in as the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State.
In a goodwill message from California, USA, Dr. Sako described Dr. Akpe’s emergence as well-deserved, noting that his appointment reflects years of dedicated service, steadfast leadership, and commitment to the development of Bayelsa State.
Dr. Akpe, who previously served as Chief of Staff to Governor Douye Diri and as a two-term member of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, was sworn in following his nomination by Governor Diri.
Dr. Sako said the Deputy Governor’s swearing-in represents a significant milestone that brings renewed hope for sustained progress, unity, and purposeful governance in the state.
“I am confident that your tenure will be marked by wisdom, integrity, humility, and a strong sense of responsibility to the people of Bayelsa State,” she stated.
She also commended Governor Douye Diri for finding Dr. Akpe worthy of the exalted office, describing the governor’s decision as a testament to his commitment to strengthening governance and leadership in the state.
