#EndBadGovernancein Nigeria, Niger Delta Activist hails Youth for peaceful protest
An activist and leader of the Niger Delta Youth Coalition,, NDYC, Prince Emmanuel Ogba, has commended youths who protested peacefully during the current
#EndBadGovernance national protest across the country.
Prince Ogba who made the commendation during an interview, also condemned those who went out of the way to force people to join the strike and traders to shut down their shops.
In same vein, he also frowned at some Police officers for shooting at armless protesters at the slightest provocation.
Prince Ogba opined that the protest was hinged on the inability of government to find immediate solution to the high cost of living as a result of the removal of fuel subsidy, leading to the current hardship in Nigeria.
He stated that the introduction of conversion of vehicles from the use of petrol to Compressed Natural Gas, CNG, was a welcomed development but for the inability of government to provide refiling stations in every part of the country.
He further reiterated that the reason for the protest which has entered it’s sixth day, is to drive home the hardship faced by both the rich and the poor and not to destroy infrastructure already put in place by government and the private sector or the looting of food items in supermarkets.
Prince Ogba who described himself as a nonviolent activist and an economic graduate, expressed hope that government would review some of it’s economic policies, to bring down frayed nerves.
Prince Ogba also condemned in strong terms, the hoisting of Russian flags in some parts of the country including Abuja adding that Nigerians should be left to solve their problem
