Dr. Eruani Azibapu, CFR, President of Azikel Group and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, has called on the people of Ogbia Kingdom to embrace unity, solidarity and collective development, while donating ₦50 million to support the newly inaugurated leadership of the Ogbia Brotherhood.
Dr. Eruani made the call while congratulating the newly inaugurated Executive Council of the Ogbia Brotherhood, led by Chief Anthony Ikobo, describing the inauguration as a significant milestone in the organisation’s quest to strengthen unity, preserve Ogbia cultural heritage and promote the collective aspirations of the people.
The historic inauguration ceremony was attended by former President of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR; the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC); His Royal Majesty King Owaba; distinguished traditional rulers and other prominent sons and daughters of Ogbia.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Eruani urged the new executive and the entire Ogbia people to uphold the ideals of unity, mutual respect, brotherhood and collective progress upon which the organisation was founded.
He cautioned against allowing personal interests and internal differences to undermine the common heritage and shared aspirations of the Ogbia people.
“Our forefathers founded the Ogbia Brotherhood on the principles of unity, mutual respect, solidarity and collective progress. We must never allow personal interests or differences to undermine the sacred bonds that unite us as one people.
“Our strength lies in our unity, and our future depends on our collective commitment to the development and prosperity of Ogbia land,” he said.
Demonstrating his commitment to the organisation and its new leadership, Dr. Eruani announced an immediate donation of ₦50 million as take-off and operational support for the newly inaugurated Executive Council.
He further charged the Anthony Ikobo-led administration to embrace inclusive leadership, strengthen the bonds of brotherhood, prioritise youth empowerment and initiate programmes capable of accelerating the socioeconomic development of Ogbia communities.
Dr. Eruani reaffirmed his commitment to the unity, progress and prosperity of Ogbia Kingdom, expressing confidence that the new leadership would sustain the legacy of the founding fathers and reposition the organisation to achieve greater milestones.
“Ogbia is our common heritage, our collective identity and our shared responsibility. Together, we must build an Ogbia that future generations will be proud to inherit,” he stated.
