Ex-agitator, Barakumo Suowari, defends Tompolo, others against kidnapping, terrorism allegations
Chairman of the Third Phase Forum of Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Mr. Barakumo Suowari, has described as unfounded and baseless the allegations of kidnapping, killing and terrorism against Chairman of Tantita Security Services, High Chief Ekpemupolo aka Tompolo, and the Amnesty Boss, Dr. Dennis Otuaro.
It would be recalled that a protest was staged in front of the United Nations Headquarters in New York, United States, against Tompolo, Dennis Otuaro, and others for the alleged kidnapping of one Charles Kurobo who is said to be a critique of Tompolo and Dennis Otuaro.
The protesters also accused Tompolo, Otuaro and the Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Commission, NNPC, Mele Kyari for committing other heinous crimes against Nigerians including Terrorism and habitual killings.
But Suowari reacting to the allegations in a press statement on Monday said there is no iota of truth in the allegations.
He noted that Tompolo, who he described as a lover of peace, could not have possibly been behind the disappearance or kidnapping of someone.
He said it is suspicious that such allegations are coming at a time when Tompolo is being hailed and applauded by all well-meaning Nigerians for his impressive work in reducing the rate of crude oil theft in the country through his Tantita surveillance security outfit.
Suowari, who is popularly called Leader Baras, added that the allegations are a cheap attempt to distract Tompolo and Otuaro from their mandates by unscrupulous persons affected by the incorruptible way they have gone about their respective works.
He stated that Nigerians should be particularly ‘grateful for the gift of Tompolo,’ adding that the ex-warlord is a national treasure given his immense contributions to the country’s economy through the pipeline surveillance job.
He therefore urged Niger Deltans and Nigerians at large to disregard the allegations and instead support Tompolo, Otuaro and Mele Kyari for critical roles in ensuring that Nigeria works.
The ex-agitator who also reacted to the allegations that Tompolo, Otuaro and Kyari has masterminded wanton killings and terrorism said, “I make bold to say that this whole charade is baseless and without substance hence I call on Nigerians to disregard such shenanigans.”
