Ex-warlord Bobo Tonye congratulates Otuaro, rallies support for new PAP leadership
A former Niger Delta freedom fighter, Comr. Bobo Tonye popularly called Sir T. has congratulated Dr. Dennis Otuaro on his recent appointment as Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP).
In a statement signed by Bobo and made available to newsmen on Friday, Bobo described the new PAP boss “as an intelligent, refined, and purposeful leader who is hungry to make a positive impact.
“It was not out of place for President Bola Tinubu to appoint Otuaro to pilot the affairs of the Amnesty Office given his experience and compelling qualifications.”
Bobo, a member of the Presidential Amnesty Programme’s Strategic Communication Committee (STRATCOM), thanked the Tinubu-led Federal Government for appointing a man who knows the yearnings of ex-agitators.
“I am confident that Dr. Dennis Otuaro will work for the interest of PAP delegates and stakeholders and make Mr. President, who has reposed confidence in him, to be very proud,” he stated.
The ex-warlord however called for Otuaro to be allowed to run the office independently and be given sufficient years to execute his noble vision for the programme, decrying that the incessant change of leadership has been a great challenge to the PAP.
He expressed the belief that the new Amnesty boss will carry all PAP delegates and stakeholders along in line with the renewed hope agenda of President Tinubu.
“Please, sir, surround yourself with people who have a similar vision of impacting ex-agitators positively; people who are ready to maintain peace, bring our people together and engender progress in Niger Delta.
“Create channels of communications in order to hear directly from ex-agitators and to also get firsthand information about happenings in the region,” he said
Bobo equally urged all ex-freedom fighters to give Otuaro the needed support to succeed.
