Flood: Diri support group provides succor to affected victims
As the 2022 flood wreck havoc with many persons displaced from their homes, Friends of Senator Douye Diri (FSDD) have embarked on flood relief intervention to bring succour to the internally displaced persons (IDP) at the Ox-bow Lake pavilion.
The flood intervention team is headed by Chief (Dr.) Timi Johnson, former Rector of the Internationally Institute of Tourism and Hospitality.
The secretary of the team, Preye Ketebou Brown said their target was to feed pregnant women, children and the elderly who are considered to be vulnerable.
He futher stated that the first day of the outreach at the IDP camp they were able to feed 300 persons, and is hopeful that more persons would be fed in the coming days.
Preye Brown also stated that the group decided to do this because the governor has done well, saying that the outreach was part of there effort to render succor to the internally displaced persons during their trying moment.
