A frontline Ijaw activist and former chairman of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Central Zone, Comrade Mike Wenibowei is dead.
A family source confirmed the sad development to our correspondent on phone, adding that he died after a brief illness on Monday morning.
Mike Wenibowei was a former chairman of IYC Central Zone Elders’ Council and a former Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Bayelsa State Governor on Peace and Conflict Resolution during the administration of Chief Timipre Sylva 2007 to 2011.
He survived a brutal gun attack by unknown gunmen in 2009 and he is survived by wife and children.
