As the race for the 2023 general elections hot up, a Social-Political group Coalition for Good Governance in Delta (CGGD) has started mobilizing support for a ranking House of Representatives member Hon. Nicholas Mutu.
Hon. Mutu is the current member representing the Patani-Bomadi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
The groupâs Coordinator Prince Perez Ogbogbo who spoke to our correspondent at the Bayelsa International Airport on his way to Abuja, said the group opted to galvanise support for Hon Nicholas Mutu haven consider the need for a continuous effective and efficient representation of the people of Patani and Bomadi federal constituency come 2023.
According to Prince Ogbogbo, âyou know with a bright horizing for the South-South in the next dispensation, it would be better to return a ranking member to the house of reps, so that the region would be well positioned to fight for environmental justice and other issues affecting the Ijawman.
âAs a ranking member Hon. Nicholas Mutu can be either the majority leader or even the speaker of the House, so sending a first timer may spell doom for us, because he may end up being a bench warmer.â
He further noted that all machineries for the mobilization of party members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have been putten in place to ensure that Hon. Mutu clinches the partyâs ticket in the primary election.
