As the aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC) throw spanners in the works on who fly the flag of the Party in the April 14th primaries, a group Bayelsa Integrity Coalition (BIC) has thrown it weight behind a former governor and Minister of State For Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva.
The group also faulted the call by a former commissioner of Science and Technology, Indutimi komonibo over his call for a former Governor elect Chief David Lyon to be given a right of first refusal, adding that he was only doing the bidding of his paymasters.
They further noted that the call for Chief Sylva’s disqualification is a joke ,stressing that the party knows who held fort at the time when things where not in favour of the party..
The Bayelsa Integrity Coalition made this position in a press statement signed by its chairman Jonathan Ebikeme Kpou and Secretary Tariyon Alabotubo, revealed that Hon. Komonibo is against chief Timipre Sylva because he lobbied for a Petroleum contract from the Ministry of Petroleum Resources which was not successful hence he turned his back against Sylva.
“Hon. Komonibo applied for a contract from the Ministry of Petroleum Resources and the contract did not go through because his company did not meet the set criteria, he choose to attack Chief Sylva.
“Today he is getting support for his up keep from Chief David Lyon, and If Lyon fails to give him, he will ditch him for another politician. The likes of Hon. Komonibo are fair weather friends, who will stop at nothing to castigate their benefactors when things do not go their way.”
The group further noted that Chief Sylva has what it takes to reclaim the state from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for its poor governance, stressing that those who are casting aspersions on the former governor are people who have benefited from his benevolence.
The group called on all APC members to be vigilant and be cautious of the antics of some political jobbers who as masquerading as members of the Party.
