Miss Suoyo Enenimiete Mercy, a contestant for the 2026 Miss Earth Nigeria has said she will create a meaningful impact for the environment and mother earth if she wins the competition.
The Miss Earth Nigeria is a national beauty pageant in Nigeria to select its representative to the international Miss Earth pageant.
The pageant which is organized by its president and veteran actress Ibinabo Fiberesima focuses on environmental advocacy and awareness.
This year’s silver jubilee edition of the beauty contest will be held 6th September 2026 in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
Suoyo is a native of Okpoama in Brass Local Government Area of Bayelsa State and a graduate of Linguistics and Communication Studies from the University of Port Harcourt.
The beauty goddess described herself as a purpose-driven young woman who believes that young peoples’ voices can inspire change and create lasting impact on environmental usage and conservation.
She said growing up in the Niger Delta has shown her how vital mangroves are to the environment and communities.
According to her, “Mangroves protect our coastlines, support biodiversity, and play an important role in combating climate change. Yet, they continue to disappear due to pollution and human activities.”
She therefore stated that her “Silver Lining Advocacy will work towards restoring and protecting mangrove ecosystems.”
She pledged to raise awareness, encourage community involvement in mangrove restoration, and inspire more people to become active stewards of the environment.
Suoyo who was first runner-up in the 2021 edition of Miss Earth Nigeria further expressed the belief “that every restored mangrove is a step toward a greener, healthier, and more sustainable future.”
She expressed readiness to be the face of the Miss Earth Nigeria Silver Jubilee edition, using the platform to create meaningful impact for “our Mother Earth.”
The aspiring Miss Earth Nigeria further pleaded for support from Niger Deltans and Nigerians in general to make her dreams come through, promising not to “disappoint the purpose” if she wins the beauty contest.
