The Ministry of Petroleum Resources and the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited in collaboration has increased oil production to 1 8 mbd, Minister of State Petroleum Resources (oil) Senator Heineken Lokpobiri has discussed

According to him “I am pleased to announce that Nigeria’s daily crude oil production has reached a significant milestone of 1.8 million barrels per day (mbpd), a clear indicator of the sustained efforts between the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, the NNPCL, and our key industry stakeholders.
“This achievement underscores our collective commitment to revitalizing the nation’s energy sector and positioning Nigeria as a formidable leader in Africa’s oil and gas landscape.

“Nigeria’s influence in Africa’s energy sphere demands that we set the pace for innovation, production, and sustainability. I am heartened to see that the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), in collaboration with all relevant agencies, has embraced this leadership role with excellence. Their drive and dedication, particularly reflected in the ongoing “war room” initiatives, have been instrumental in achieving these results.

“The recent progress report on our targeted interventions—ranging from enhanced security measures to the optimization of operational efficiencies—demonstrates the capacity of our institutions to overcome challenges and deliver on our mandate. This is a direct reflection of the resilience and strategic foresight guiding our sector.

“As we advance toward even more ambitious production goals, I urge all stakeholders to sustain the momentum. With the expertise, resources, and commitment at our disposal, I have every confidence that we will continue to not only meet but exceed our targets, driving Nigeria’s energy aspirations and contributing to global energy security.

^My commendation goes to the NNPCL and all other partners for their dedication to the vision of restoring Nigeria’s energy prosperity. Together, we are building a stronger, more prosperous future for our nation.”
