Jonathan, Lokpobiri, Dickson to nominate members of Diri’s cabinet
Indications emerge weekend that former President, Dr.Goodluck Jonathan minister of state Petroleum Resources (oil) Senator Heineken Lokpobiri and former governor and Senator representing Bayelsa West in the red chamber Senator Henry Seriake Dickson would forward names of their loyalists to Governor Douye Diri as cabinet members.
Our correspondent reports that Governor Diri has hinted that he would soon constitute and all inclusive cabinet by incorporating members of the opposition parties to the yet to be announced Executive council.
Niger Delta Herald gathered that the former president Dr. Jonathan as at the time of this report was yet to send in names of his candidates for the positions, but a source close to the former president who do not want his name mentioned confirm the development when asked to comment on the issue.
It was also learnt at the weekend that the minister of state Petroleum Resources (oil) Senator Lokpobiri held crucial meeting with some members of the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) and the agenda was to see how his faction of the APC would work with the Governor Douye Diri led government of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
An impeccable source who was part of the parley hinted that a former House of Representatives member representing Nembe/Brass Federal Constituency, Hon. Sunny Israel Goli maybe appointed.
The source also hinted that former APC Chairman, chief Dr. Tiwei orunimighe is also going to be appointed as a member of the cabinet.
Senator Seriake Dickson we learnt has sent in his list of names as of those he wanted appointed into the new cabinet.
It was also gathered that some members of the Labour Party led by Comrade Ineye zidougha are to be given appointments.
The candidate of the LP in last governorship election Engr. Udengs Eradiri was said to have turndown the offer to be made Commissioner by the governor.
Efforts to reach the APC Chairman Dr. Dennis Otiotio proved abortive as at the time of filing this report. Because he didn’t respond to his calls when our correspondent put a call to him.
