Last night, I received the New Telegraph Newspapers 2023 Governor of the Year Award in the Human Capacity Development category
The event held at the Federal Palace Hotel on Victoria Island in Lagos also had other awardees, including my Brother-Governors of Lagos, Enugu, Bauchi, Gombe and Kebbi states as well as top public servants, corporate organisations and individuals.
I was represented at the event by my dependable deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo.
It is gratifying that our modest effort at re-defining the socio-economic wellbeing of our people in Bayelsa State is resonating beyond our borders and attracting recognition and honour.
Our policies and emphasis on skills acquisition, technical and vocational education, ICT development and provision of monthly grants to small scale businesses in our state are not only gaining ground but also reshaping the narrative about our state.
I therefore commend the management of the New Telegraph Newspapers for this award.
As I always do, the honour is dedicated to the people of my state for their belief in my Prosperity Administration and for their unrelenting support.
