The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, has emphasized that the consistent delivery of critical infrastructure and development projects remains central to effective governance. He noted that under the Renewed Hope administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, state governments are being supported through coordinated policies and improved institutional alignment to undertake projects that drive growth and improve living standards nationwide.

This was contained in a statement issued by Nneamaka Okafor, Special Adviser on Media and Communications to the Minister, while Lokpobiri joined Governor Douye Diri to receive President Tinubu in Bayelsa State for the commissioning of key projects. Lokpobiri described the occasion as a clear indication that the state is making steady progress, attributing the development to strengthened unity and deliberate leadership that have helped reposition Bayelsa for sustainable growth.

“Good governance is ultimately measured by the ability to deliver projects that impact the people directly. What we are witnessing today reflects a commitment to inclusive development, supported by the Renewed Hope agenda,” the Minister stated.

He further noted that the growing sense of cohesion across the state has played a vital role in advancing the objectives of the Assured Prosperity administration of Governor Douye Diri, with citizens actively contributing to the development process.

Highlighting developments in the petroleum sector, Lokpobiri explained that ongoing reforms have improved the investment climate, leading to increased activity across the industry’s value chain.

According to him, this has resulted in stronger revenue flows to states and the creation of more employment opportunities. “These reforms are not only attracting investments but also ensuring that oil-producing communities benefit more directly. Bayelsa, in particular, is seeing improved outcomes through increased Host Community Funds and broader economic participation,” he added.

The Minister also acknowledged the Federal Government’s commitment to completing strategic projects within the state, noting that such efforts will enhance productivity and economic output.

He commended Governor Douye Diri for providing leadership that prioritizes unity and inclusive governance, and expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for personally commissioning the projects. He affirmed that the people of Bayelsa value the engagement and assured continued alignment with the Renewed Hope agenda.
