The Honorable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil) Senator Heineken Lokpobiri has reiterated the commitment of the Federal Government’s drive to ramp-up production by adopting cleaner and greener processes to ensure a safe and sustainable environment.

He made this assertion when he received Dr. Nkiruka Maduekwe, Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the National Council on Climate Change (NCCC), in his office in Abuja.

According to the Minister, the commitment underscores the government’s belief that increased productivity should never come at the expense of environmental safety.

Lokpobiri said, ” In our drive to ramp up production, a key focus remains on adopting cleaner and greener processes to ensure a safe and sustainable environment. This commitment underscores our belief that increased productivity should never come at the expense of environmental safety.

“I emphasized this priority while hosting Dr. Nkiruka Maduekwe, Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the National Council on Climate Change (NCCC), during her visit. Our discussions centered on forging collaborations and strategic partnerships to actualize our objective of boosting production while adhering to environmentally responsible practices.

“We remain resolute in safeguarding the well-being of our communities and preserving our environment, even as we pursue operational excellence.

“This commitment resonates with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s demonstrated resolve to clean up lands affected by oil spills.
