March 18th Elections: former Bayelsa Governor-elect David Lyon losses Ward to Opposition PDP
Former Governor-elect of Bayelsa State Chief David Lyon has lost his ward to the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, as the candidate of the national opposition party swept to victory in the just concluded State Assembly elections.
Lyon, of the APC who is of Ward 4 Constituency 4 of Southern Ijaw Local Government Area performed unenthusiastically as the APC results fell short of expectations.
Reacting to the announcement of results by INEC, the Silga Frontier Force Secretary Chief Willabo Tebeolotu described the results as ’embarrassing’ and knocked David Lyon for ‘poor run of results exacerbated by sheer incapacity to deliver’
The APC polled 759 votes at ward 4, Southern Ijaw Constituency 4 while the PDP won with 846 votes, beating David Lyon for the second time in a month.
