Niger Delta Youth Coalition (NDYC) has called for a shift in the election dates because of the socio-economic confusion present in the nation.
Making the call in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State Capital, Secretary General of NDYC, Dr. Joe Amachree said that Nigerians are presently faced with pathetic situation threatening their livelihood.
“Families are hungry because of the present situation. Petroleum products have gone out of the reach of the common man in the streets.
“Our monies, both old and new Naira are trapped in the banks and families are now living the worst standard ever.
“We call on President Muhammadu Buhari, the National Assembly and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to do the needful by extending the election to the first two weeks of April, the said Amachree who expressed fear over the growing insecurity across the nation stressed that of the election dates were not shifted, there is bound to be voters aparthy.
“The Secretary General further urged the federal Government to first of all address the issues arriving from the Naira swap, high cost of production products and insecurity before the election.
