NCDMB alerts Public on fake LinkedIn account of Executive Secretary, Engr. Kesiye Simbi Wabote 

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has alerted the public about a fake social media account on LinkedIn of the Executive Secretary, Engr Kesiye Simbi Wabote.

The board warned the general public that the purported account is the handiwork of fraudulent persons with intention to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.

A statement signed by the Manager Corporate Communications, Esueme Dan Kikile admonished the public to disregard any post from the fake account .

 The disclaimer read: “The attention of the Management of the Nigerian Content Development & Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has just been drawn to fake LinkedIn Accounts fraudulently bearing the name of the Executive Secretary, Engr. Simbi Kesiye Wabote, FNSE, FIPS. One of the accounts recently tried to defraud unsuspecting members of the public with promises of contracts or favours in the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry.

“We wish to clarify that Engr. Wabote has a verified LinkedIn account, which is Simbi Wabote and would never promise or demand favours to anyone using that platform or any other channel for that matter.

“Consequently, we disassociate the Executive Secretary from any post, claim, request, insinuation etc made from any of those LinkedIn Accounts and other social media platforms opened by fraudulent persons in his name. We strongly caution members of the public against interacting with any such fake accounts under any guise.

“While we have taken steps to report these fake accounts to the concerned authorities, we strongly advise members of the public against failing prey to fraudsters who use the names of public officers to perpetuate crimes.

Any communication on programmes or opportunities from the NCDMB would be communicated through the official channels – www.ncdmb.gov.ng and officialncdmb on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
