One Day Sensitization/Enlightenment Workshop/Seminar on the Community Content Guideline (CCG), organised by the Board for Ondo state held at the Conference Hall, Royal Bird Hotel and Towers , Akure, Ondo State, Mr Joseph Adebayo, Zonal Coordinator, Ondo State, NCDMB, thanked the participants at today’s workshop for coming to learn more about the Board and the Board’s Community Content Guidelines (CCG), in his welcome address.
Delivering the Keynote address, Engr. Simbi Kesiye Wabote (FNSE, FIPS) Executive Secretary, NCDMB, represented by Engr. Ginah O. Ginah PhD, GM, CC/ZC, NCDMB, noted that “the Board is here today to interact and enlighten citizens about the Board and her activities with the CCG as an instrument.”
“We expect this workshop to be interactive and educative. And in the end, we expect that participants will be positive and productive ambassadors of the Board.”
The General Manager, Corporate Communications/Zonal Coordination, Engr. Ginah O. Ginah PhD, FNSE, in his presentation at the workshop on the CCG, gave an introduction on the establishment of the NCDMB and how the Board has increased Local Content from 5% to about 54% percent.
He highlighted the objectives of the CCG which is to achieve: 1. Structured engagement of youths in host communities in productive endeavors including employment, training, services, supplies, manufacturing and contracts.
2 Establish critical infrastructure to stimulate development in host�Communities.
3. Attract new businesses to strategic locations in host Communities.
4. Sustain growth of host Community entrepreneurs through fund and policy support.
He also talked about The Community Content Framework which has four (4) broad pillars -. Project Office and Community Offices
-. Employment and Human Capital Development (HCD)
-. Procurement of Goods and Services
-. Funding
On Human Capital Development, He noted that building the capacities of Nigerians is a key mandate of the Board.
He amongst others noted that an Objective of the HCD Training by the #NCDMB is to develop a pool of skilled and competent workforce for the Oil and Gas Industry and its service sectors.
He also listed the NCDMB’s 4 types of Capacity Building Trainings, namely: – Direct Intervention
– Project Based
– Collaborative and
– Remedial Training.
And Trainings to be undertaken are preceded by Needs Assessment to identify Skill gaps, Needs and Opportunities.
There was also a Question and Answer session at the end of the presentations.
