The Management of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) led by the Executive Secretary Engr Simbi Kesiye Wabote FNSE, FNSI also received in audience at the Board’s Headquarters in Yenagoa, a delegation of the Association of Professional Women Engineers (APWEN) led by its President, Dr Mrs Elizabeth Jumoke Eterigho, FNSE, FNSChE this afternoon.

The APWEN President, Dr Eterigho disclosed that the purpose of their visit was to seek the Board’s collaboration and support for their programs which are aimed at encouraging female participation in STEM Education and more especially to boost female interest in Engineering.

The Association’s also included Engr. Nnoli Akpedeye (FNSE) the13th President of APWEN, Engr. Ifiemi Tulagha-Ocholi (MNSE) Chairman Bayelsa State Chapter, Engr. Deborah T. Agboun (MNSE) National Publicity Secretary, Engr. Olubukola Agnes Komolafe MNSE- South-South Coordinatorand Engr. Tonye C.P. Banigo (MNSE) Chairman Port Harcourt Chapter of the APWEN.

Dr Eterigho commended the Board for its support to the Association and Women in general over the years. She congratulated the Executive Secretary on his recent honour as the recipient of the Vanguard Newspapers’ Regulator of the Year Award which she said should not be taken lightly.

Responding to the APWEN delegation, NCDMB boss, Engr Wabote pledged the Board’s commitment to continue to support the Association as its aspirations are in line with the Board’s Capacity Building mandate.

He also commended the Association for their efforts in closing the gender gap in Engineering, which is vital to Local Content development and our national economy.

The highpoint of the visit to the Board was the presentation of the Award of “APWEN Pillar of Support” to the Executive Secretary, NCDMB Engr Simbi Kesiye Wabote FNSE, by the Association.
