NDDC: Bayelsans hail Buhari over Ugbuku’s nomination as Managing Director

President Mohammadu Buhari has been given a pat on the back for the appointment of Chief Dr. Samuel Ugbuku as the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

National Secretary of the Movement for the Survival of Izon Ethnic Nationalities (MOSIEND), Ambassador Winston Amai made the commendation in a chat with Journalists in Yenagoa the capital of Bayelsa State.

He noted that the president with the nomination of Chief Dr. Samuel Ugbuku has proven that he has a listening ear on the cry of the people of Niger Delta.

Ambassador Amai said further that he is confident that Chief Ugbuku would deliver on his mandate having performed as Chief of Staff Government House under the administration of Chief Timipre Sylva as governor.

“This appointment is round-peg-in-a round hole, and am of the view that he is going to carry every body along in the scheme of things.

“Dr. Ugbuku is a grass-root politician, social activist who knows what is on ground, he will surely excel in this new assignment.”
He is of the view that all shade of opinion devoid of political inclinations should be the guiding principle of the new NDDC MD.

In similar vein, a prominent Bayelsan and sports facility construction giant, chief Ebi Egbe has congratulated Chief Dr. Samuel Ugbuku on his nomination as the new NDDC MD. In electronic mail sent to journalists, he thanked the President for the appointment.
Chief Egbe who is the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of Monimechlle Sports Construction Company Limited, said he is confident that Dr. Ugbuku would use is wealth of experience as public officer and scholar to bear in his new assignment in the NDDC.

“I wish to congratulate one of us on his well deserved appointment as the MD of NDDC,” he noted.

A politician and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ranami Afagha also hailed President Mohammadu Buhari for the appointment and called on Dr. Samuel Ugbuku to carry youths and women along in carrying out his assignment .

He also cautioned doing things along partisan lines.
