The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has issued a strong warning to the public regarding fraudulent messages circulating online and through various communication platforms. These messages often involve individuals requesting money, issuing fake invitations, soliciting sensitive personal information, or offering scholarship placements purportedly on behalf of the NDDC.

In a statement released by Seledi Thompson-Wakama, Director of Corporate Affairs, the Commission emphasized that all official activities, including scholarship applications and beneficiary engagements, are conducted strictly through authorized channels.

“We urge members of the public to remain vigilant and avoid falling victim to these fraudulent schemes. Anyone who receives such messages is encouraged to report them immediately to the appropriate authorities, as your safety and privacy are our priority,” the statement read.

The NDDC encourages individuals with legitimate inquiries about its scholarship programme or other development initiatives to contact the Commission through its official platforms. Additionally, all beneficiaries and stakeholders are advised to verify any information directly from the NDDC’s website: www.nddc.gov.ng.

This advisory is part of the Commission’s broader effort to protect the integrity of its programmes and ensure transparency in its dealings with the public.
