The Bayelsa State Government-owned Niger Delta University (NDU) has taken steps to deepen its collaboration with the Nigerian Air Force (NAF).
This follows a high-powered delegation visit by the University’s Management, led by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Allen A. Agih, to the Air Officer Commanding, Mobility Command, Air Vice Marshal Michael Nnanye Onyebashi, in Yenagoa.
During the courtesy visit, the Vice Chancellor expressed appreciation to the Nigerian Air Force for its support during the National Universities Commission (NUC) accreditation of NDU’s Department of Meteorology and Weather Forecasting, particularly the provision of access to meteorological facilities and equipment that contributed to the successful accreditation of the programme.
Both institutions explored strategic opportunities for collaboration in the areas of Engineering, Security Studies, Medicine, Environmental Science, Meteorology, research, and student industrial training.
The visit reaffirmed the commitment of Niger Delta University and the Nigerian Air Force to building a mutually beneficial partnership that will continue to promote education, innovation, research, and national development.
