Speaking at the event, Governor Douye Diri expressed appreciation to the state’s civil servants for their support and encouraged them to demonstrate dedication and diligence once the new secretariat is completed.

“My dear civil servants, as we embark on this project—valued at over ₦46 billion—I assure you that funding will not be a challenge. We expect you to reciprocate by being punctual, dedicated, and ensuring the timely execution of government programs and policies,” Governor Diri stated.

Mrs. Walson-Jack emphasized that the project aligns with the broader vision of strengthening Nigeria’s civil service at both state and federal levels, ensuring effective, people-focused governance. She described the initiative as a reflection of the government’s commitment to improving service delivery and administration in the state.

The project, awarded to the indigenous construction firm Megastar, is scheduled for completion within 24 months.

Rear Admiral Gboribiogha John Jonah, members of the National Assembly, Speaker of the State Assembly Rt. Hon. Abraham Ingobere, other state lawmakers, federal permanent secretaries, commissioners, senior government officials, and a cross-section of Bayelsa State civil servants.
