NNL Super Four Tournament Kicks Off In Yenagoa, Action Continues On Thursday.

Host Bayelsa United were on Wednesday held to a goalless draw by Doma United of Gombe in the ongoing Nigeria National League (NNL) super four tournament at the Samson Siasia Stadium Yenagoa.
The Aiteo champions created several scoring opportunity in the first half but were unable to convert their chances despite having full control of the game.
Forward Robert Mizo almost gave the Prosperity Boys the lead four minutes into the game from Daniel Ekpo’s low drive but was saved by Doma United shot stopper Zalli Abullahi who was kept busy throughout the game.
Just before the half time mark Stephen Wisdom tested the Savannah Tigers goalkeeper from a long range shot but hit the woodwork as Garando Tekena failed to utilize the Doma United shot stopper spill.
In what could be described as the best opportunity for the Prosperity Boys Daniel Ekpo on 50 minute had a one on one with the visitors goalkeeper but was not intelligent enough to put the ball at the back of the net.
Doma United who were defensive conscious not to concede a goal came very close on 80 minute as Hilary Ekawu effort was abbreviated by the brilliance of Gabriel Biriduba and Endurance Ebedebiri.
Action returns on thursday. The first match of the day will see Doma United up against El-Kanemi Warriors as Bayelsa United square off with neighbors Bendel Insurance by 4pm
In a post match interview, technical adviser of Bayelsa United Diepreye Teibowei commended his opponents for their doggedness but attributed the draw to his side’s wastefulness in the vital areas.
Doma United coach Akin-Olugbade noted that his boys gave their best, pointing out that they have studied the Prosperity Boys pattern of play prior to the encounter.
Also, Bayelsa United captain Gabriel Biriduba said he was not disappointed by the result, expressing confidence of victory against Insurance.
He added that their wish was to secure three points against Doma United before facing thier next opponent but promised to come out strong in subsequent games .
