No Project by the Prosperity govt will be abandoned- Ebibai
Bayelsa State Government has assured citizens that all projects under the administration of Governor Douye Diri are strategically planned to ensure completion without abandonment.
Hon. Maxwell Ebibai, the Commissioner for Finance, made this known during the quarterly transparency briefing in Yenagoa, where he presented a breakdown of the state’s financial inflow and expenditures for October, November, and December 2024.
Hon Ebibai stated that for October 2024, the state received a total gross inflow of 26.514 billion naira from the Federation Account, with a statutory allocation of 509 million naira. After deductions of 1.735 billion naira at the Federation Account Allocation Committee, FAAC, the total received stood at 101.2 billion naira.
The internally generated revenue, IGR, for September, was 3.293 billion naira, bringing the total balance at the end of October to 186.044 billion naira.
In November 2024, the state received 37.982 billion naira from FAAC, with a statutory allocation of 294.4 million naira. After deductions of 1.734 billion naira, the net received was 75.5 billion naira, while IGR for the month was 3.336 billion naira. The total recurrent and capital expenditure stood at 42.924 billion naira, leaving a balance of 194.346 billion naira at the end of the month.
For December 2024, statutory allocation was 2.07 billion naira, with deductions amounting to 1.783 billion naira. After deductions, the total received was 52 billion, 269million, 677 thousand, 26 naira, 44kobo, while IGR for the month was 2.623 billion naira.
The total expenditure for the month was 69.7 billion naira, leaving a balance of 193.573 billion naira carried into January 2025.
Speaking at the briefing, the Commissioner for Information, Orientation, and Strategy, Hon. Ebiuwou Koku-Obiyai, reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to accountability and the completion of legacy projects that will benefit Bayelsans.
Hon Koku-Obiyai further stated that ongoing projects will be completed as planned, ensuring sustainable development across the state.
