Yenagoa—The Ogbia Brotherhood Youth Council (OBYC) Worldwide has registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), making it a recognized corporate body.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by the group’s president, Johnny S. Jonathan on Wednesday.

According to the statement, the move which was in line with the manifesto of the current executive committee of the OBYC will now enable the youth group to maintain friendship and cooperation with neighbouring youth groups as well as engage and partner with government and international NGOs for the development of Ogbia kingdom.

The statement also disclosed that the group will soon launch its official website—OGBIA.ORG which the group said will be “handed over to the Ogbia people to be managed and administered by professionals for the benefit of Ogbia people all over the world.”

Jonathan further called on government at all levels, private organizations, development partners, individuals, and professional bodies including Ogbia sons and daughters for partnership in its initiative for peace, security, and development of the Ogbia kingdom and the society at large.

“In line with the leadership blueprint of the fourth (4) National Executive Committee of the Ogbia Brotherhood Youth Council, under the competent leadership of Comr. (Amb) Johnny S. Jonathan, the Ogbia Brotherhood Youth Council (OBYC) Worldwide is now duly registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).

“An ancient kingdom like Ogbia, in this 21st Century, must also have an electronic medium through which her people can document, interact, learn, and preserve her history, culture, tradition, leadership, political exploits, etc.

“My commitment as President of all Ogbia youths is to not only bring us at par with our contemporaries but to give us an edge over others, and be an example in youth leadership and development.

“Therefore, Ogbia People’s Official Website; OGBIA.ORG is expected to be unveiled in the planned ‘Ogbia Summit 2023’ and will be handed over to the Ogbia people to be managed and administered by professionals for the benefit of Ogbia people all over the world.

“This is one of our contributions and legacy as partners in the Ogbia project.

“We, therefore, invite relevant government agencies at all levels, reputable organizations, development partners, spirited individuals, academia and professional bodies, and Ogbia sons and daughters to partner with us in our youth development initiative for peace, security, and development of society,” the statement partly read.
