Few days to the 2023 Bayelsa Governorship Election, a chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party PDP and former Member representing Brass Constituency 2 in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Hon. Alfred Watson-Belemote accompanied by other PDP faithfuls say Gov. Diri has proved himself worthy to receive their votes.
The kinsmen of the allegedly disqualified candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC says it took Governor Douye Diri less then four years to commence the construction of the Nembe Brass Road to link Okpoama kingdom and the entire island to the capital city, what their own son could not do for over five years in his stay in creek haven.
Hon Belemote while addressing a world press Conference in Okpoama over the weekend alongside his teaming supporters reiterated that the prosperity ticket needs to be reloaded to promote peace, empowerment of the rural people and more dividends of democracy.The Special Adviser to the Governor further called on his people to remain undaunted in their support for the PDP and his performing candidate and not to be intimidated with the antics of those on the other side as a good medicine is better than Silver.
The former lawmaker admonished voters in Okpoama to cast their ballots for the PDP and defend it from the units to the ward collation centres as victory is assured.
Other PDP faithfuls who spoke in separate interviews noted that the good works of the prosperity administration has endeared them to support results rather than unkempt promises. Mrs Sarah Ginah a business woman and Elder Oyanbo Nimibofa Ikoko staunch supporters of the PDP joined their voices to laud the Governor Douye Diri led administration for his people oriented policies especially the construction of the Nembe Brass Road and giant strides in the areas of security, education, grass root-Sports, healthcare delivery,trade and industry as well as deliberate efforts in Women empowerment to tackle the developmental needs of the people in the rural areas especially those from the Brass island and the creeks.
It was a consensus for the people of the area that a vote for Diri and the PDP candidate will position Okpoama kingdom for endless possibilities.
