PDP Restructures in Bayelsa, Establishes New Directorates and Appointments Across LGAs

Yenagoa – In a significant move to revamp its administrative framework and strengthen grassroots engagement, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State has announced the establishment of eight new directorates and a series of support appointments across the state’s eight Local Government Areas (LGAs).

The initiative, approved by the Acting State Chairman, George Turnah, MON, is aimed at fostering inclusiveness, enhancing service delivery, and bridging the gap between the party’s state secretariat and its grassroots structures.

According to a statement signed by the State Publicity Secretary of the PDP Caretaker Committee, Derri Alasuote Wright, the restructuring includes the creation of:

Eight (8) Directorates,

Eight (8) Special Adviser (SA) portfolios,

Eight (8) Senior Special Assistant (SSA) roles, and

Nine (9) Special Assistant (SA) positions.

Each of Bayelsa’s eight LGAs will have one representative in each of the new categories, ensuring that all 24 state constituencies are represented in the party’s administrative and advisory structure.

Wright noted that the move is aimed at promoting unity within the party, creating a sense of ownership among members, and ensuring every community feels the impact of the party’s leadership.

Appointees will be entitled to monthly salaries and allowances under a harmonized salary structure currently being reviewed by the party’s leadership.
